The woman, 29, claimed before a Mumbai court that the document’s signature did not belong to her.
A 46-year-old man has drafted a live-in relationship agreement. In this agreement, they both promise not to pursue charges of sexual harassment against each other. This is a condition for obtaining pre-arrest release in a rape case filed by his girlfriend in Mumbai.
On August 29, the court granted him bail in the rape case.
However, the 29-year-old lady who accompanied him to court claimed that the document’s signature did not belong to her in a Mumbai courtroom.
According to the police, the accused is a government official. They are also currently investigating the alleged love arrangement. The woman, meanwhile, works as a caregiver for the elderly.
The woman claims that her partner repeatedly sexually assaulted her while they were living together. She also claims that he made promises to marry her.
The accused’s attorney has referred to the situation as a hoax.
“The respondent wrongfully compelled the petitioner to appear in this case. He is the victim of events. They shared a residence together. The contract demonstrates that they had both decided to be in a relationship. The woman signed the agreement after it was made. According to Sunil Pandey, the man’s attorney, “the agreement demonstrates that both of them had agreed to be in a relationship.”
The Formal live-in relationship Agreement Between Them
They agreed to a seven-point pact. The pact stated they would remain together from August 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025.
They will enjoy their time together in peace. They won’t bring any sexual harassment claims against each other during this time.
The third clause has two parts. The first part states that the lady will live with the man at his house. The second part states that she will have a month’s notice to end their relationship if she feels his behavior is unsuitable.
The fourth provision states that he does not permit her family to visit her home while she is residing with him.
The fifth clause prohibits the woman from harassing or causing mental pain to the man.
The sixth clause states that the guy should not be held accountable if the lady becomes pregnant during this time.
According to the eighth clause, the woman shall be held accountable if the harassment results in mental stress for the guy, damaging his life.
