Navjot Singh Sidhu stated that doctors had given his wife only 40 days to live. Additionally, he said that some cures helped her overcome Stage 4 cancer.
The Chhattisgarh Civil Society (CCS) has served a ₹850 crore notice to Navjot Kaur Sidhu, the wife of Congressman Navjot Singh Sidhu. This is regarding her husband Navjot Singh Sidhu’s claims about traditional cancer treatment.
“False claims like this are confusing people and making them think negatively about allopathic medicine and therapy,” stated Dr. Kuldeep Solanki, convenor of the CCS, in a Business Standard story. The risk of death has increased as a result of forcing even cancer patients to stop taking their medication.
According to the story, Navjot Kaur has received a threat of legal action from Solanki. She is required to provide proof to back up her allegations within a week.
Additional information is putting other patients health at risk, he asserted. He asked her to defend her position on her husband’s allegations. If she lacks the necessary medical records, he suggested arranging a press conference.
The civic organization asked the wife of the cricket player-turned-politician for clarification on her husband’s statements. They explained that any misrepresentation of her husband’s statements could put other patients’ health at risk.
The assertions made by Navjot Singh Sidhu on cancer treatment of his wife
Doctors had given Sidhu’s wife a prognosis of only 40 days. At a November 21 news conference, he shared that some cures had helped Navjot overcome Stage 4 cancer. According to an ANI report, Sidhu compared cancer to inflammation. He claimed that milk, wheat (carbohydrates), refined maida, and sugar are the causes of this inflammation.
I spent ten hours reading about cancer, ayurveda, American doctors, Indian research, and the common denominators. After that, I cut out sugar, atta, maida, and aerated beverages because cancer feeds on sugar. Sidhu remarked, “Samosa jalebi gone.”
“Then on things that brought her back, cancer cells die automatically if you don’t give them sugar and carbohydrates,” he asserted.
Doctors questioned Sidhu’s statements regarding cancer treatment, which fuelled controversy.
The director of Tata Memorial Hospital, Dr. C S Pramesh, wrote in a statement that some parts of the video suggest: Starving the cancer by avoiding sugar and dairy products. Consuming haldi (turmeric) and neem helped cure an “incurable” cancer.
262 Current and former oncologists from Tata Memorial Hospital have signed this declaration. They stated that there is no high-quality evidence to back up these remarks.
Sidhu clarifies
“I want to say that a doctor is like God to me, and doctors have always been my priority,” Sidhu said in a statement posted on X on Monday. Navjot Kaur Sidhu, my doctor, is at my house. All of our actions were carried out cooperatively with medical consultation.”
