New Delhi: Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, spiritual leader and founder of the Isha Foundation, declared on Sunday on Tirupati Laddoo Row. He found beef tallow in temple prasadam to be “beyond disgusting.” This statement came after a heated dispute concerning the alleged use of animal fat in Tirupati Laddu.
“Where there is no devotion, there shall be no sanctity,” he declared, arguing that devotees, not governments or administrations, should be in charge of running the temples.
He wrote this in a post on the social media site X: “It is abhorrent to see devotees eating cow tallow at the Temple. For this reason, devotees, not government agencies, should oversee temple operations. There can be no sanctity in the absence of devotion. Time the government does not run the Hindu temples; rather, pious Hindus do.”

Acharya Pramod Krishnam expressed his concerns about the matter on Saturday. He referred to it as a “very dangerous conspiracy” targeting Sanatan Dharma.
Tirupati Laddoo Row began on September 18
On September 18, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu claimed that during Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure, the preparation of Tirupati laddus included animal fat. He also claimed that inferior ingredients were used in the preparation of Tirupati laddoos during that time.
Naidu stated that the manufacturers used inferior components to produce the Tirumala laddu.
He said that they compromised on the quality of Annadanam (free meals). They used animal fat instead of ghee in the sacred Tirumala Laddu. He also mentioned that after the change of administration, they used only pure ghee to make the laddu.
Y.V. Subba Reddy, a YSRCP MP and former Chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), responded to CM Naidu’s allegations of adulteration. He emphasized that TTD serves “prasadam” made exclusively from organic goods and pure cow ghee.
The BJP’s youth wing, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), organized a protest at Jagan Mohan Reddy’s house on Sunday. They sought an apology from him because the matter was not going away.
Many people are outraged by the scandal. They are questioning the motivation behind the crime. Calls for stern action against those responsible are increasing.
