At the 77th Locarno Film Festival, the organizers presented the Pardo Alla Carriera award to superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The speech made by the man of the hour himself was the night’s major highlight, drawing enthusiastic applause and other reactions.
Shah Rukh Khan has added another feather to his hat. On Saturday, the prestigious Locarno Film Festival honored him with a lifetime achievement award, making him the first Indian celebrity to receive such recognition. The award is alternatively referred to as Pardo Alla Carriera or Career Leopard. The actor attended the event looking sharp in a black blazer and matching trousers. Several photos and videos from the evening are floating around social media. Among all the movie stars, the actor’s haircut was considered the best, and this was evident last night. Once more, SRK’s long, open hair drew a lot of attention and excited the audience.

The speech delivered by the man of the hour himself was the primary focus as well, drawing enthusiastic applause and other reactions. Variety reports that SRK started by expressing gratitude for the cordial welcome he got. He joked, alluding to his well-known open-armed stance, “Thank you all for welcoming me with such wide arms – wider than the ones I do on screen.”
He continued by praising the venue of the festival. “Locarno is a very beautiful, cultural, artistic, and very hot city,” he said, grinning. “There exist numerous individuals packed into a compact square, and the temperature is exceedingly high.” It feels exactly like home in India.”
SRK then discussed his views on films. “In my opinion, films have emerged as the most significant and impactful artistic form in the modern era. I’ve had the honor of participating in this for several years, and I’ve learned a few things from the voyage,” he continued.
“Art is the act of affirming life above all else,” the actor said, highlighting the universality of art and cinema. It enters a realm of emancipation that transcends all artificial boundaries. Politics is not necessary. Polemicality is not required. It doesn’t have to preach. It doesn’t have to be cerebral. Moralizing is not necessary. To express its reality, art and film must speak from the heart. And that, in my opinion, is the greatest creative output.”
Shah Rukh Khan has had a fantastic year at the box office.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan’s career saw three successful 2023 releases: Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. He will next appear alongside his daughter Suhana Khan in Sujoy Ghosh’s King, a film that also features Abhishek Bachchan and Fahim Fazli.
In addition, he has Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming project, which is currently untitled and stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
