On Sunday, the nationwide violence resulted in at least 96 deaths.

Monday marked the end of prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s 15-year tenure, when she left amid weeks of violent demonstrations.

At least 135 people were killed nationwide before and after Sheikh Hasina resigned as prime minister on Monday due to violence, police shootings, mob beatings, and arson.

The nation announced the day before that conflicts between demonstrators and members of the Awami League had resulted in at least 96 dead from police shootings.

After fighting broke out between police and miscreants on Monday, the outskirts of the capital saw the deaths of at least eighteen persons. This tragic event occurred in the Savar and Dhamrai regions.

Police opened fire with tear gas and bullets, hurting 50 more individuals. Locals reported that among those shot were multiple journalists.

According to reports, people dressed in civilian clothes opened fire on protestors on Monday afternoon in Uttara, the capital, leaving at least ten people dead and numerous others injured. The Uttara East police station was the source of the gunfire. Hundreds of angry protesters surrounded and set fire to the police station in retaliation.

At least 78 people have died in the capital, according to reports from several hospitals.

Confrontation between police and protestors

A conflict between demonstrators and police in Habiganj resulted in over 100 injuries and at least six fatalities. Hasan Mia, 12, Ashraful, 17, Nayan, 18, Tofazzal, 18, Mojakkir, 40, and Sadiqur, 30 were the names of the deceased.

Unidentified arsonists in Jessore set fire to a residential hotel, resulting in at least eight fatalities and 84 injuries.

Shahin Chakladar, the general secretary of the Jessore district AL, was the owner of the guesthouse.

Three individuals were fatally beaten in Khulna. Among the victims were GM Mohsin Reza and the chairman of the Koyra Upazila Parishad. GM Mohsin Reza was the president of the Upazila Awami League.

Reza’s personal assistant, Mofizul Islam, and his chauffeur, Alamgir, were identified as the other two individuals who lost their lives.

After agitators set fire to Serniabat Sadik Abdullah, the president of City AL and a former mayor, on Monday, three persons in Barisal perished from burns.

The issue was verified by Arichur Huq, the Kotwali police station’s OC.

In Tangail, one individual perished in a police shooting in Dhanbari Upazila on Monday, while two more perished in Sadar Upazila.

In the district, at least 40 more people suffered injuries.

Monday’s fighting in Lakshmipur claimed the lives of at least 11 persons. According to hospital reports, 35 more people had gunshot wounds.

Bodies of civilians discovered

Seven bodies were discovered in front of AKM Salah Uddin Tip’s home. Tipu is the chairman of the Sadar Upazila and a former Jubo League head. In the Tamiz Market neighborhood of the district, the discovery was made.

Six individuals, including a 13-year-old, died in Kushtia.

In Satkhira, three more persons lost their lives.

Meanwhile, at Sreepur, Gazipur: Miscreants blocked two BGB vehicles. BGB troops responded with gunfire. At least six individuals sustained injuries.

Inside the cars were at least eighty BGB personnel.

The incident happened on Monday at around noon.

Ansar members opened fire on Monday afternoon in Safipur, Gazipur, resulting in the deaths of two persons.

According to sources, miscreants broke into and damaged the Ansar-VDP Academy in Safipur. In self-defense, the Ansar members opened fire, instantly killing two persons.

In addition, the tragedy harmed over a hundred people.

Nationwide violence towards political leaders, police station

Miscreants attacked the police stations in Konabari and Basan.

A gang of miscreants in Naogaon damaged Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder’s home.

In the meantime, on Monday, miscreants broke into and set fire to Mashrafe Bin Mortaza’s home, the MP for the Narail-2 constituency.

They also vandalized the homes of district AL President Subash Chandra Bose and set fire to the district AL office.

Vandals damaged Shamim Osman’s home in Narayanganj, where he serves as the MP for the Narayanganj-4 seat.

Additionally, they attacked and defaced the district AL office.

The Comilla-6 (Sadar) constituency MP, AKM Bahauddin Bahar, had his residence set on fire.

In the Manoharpur Munsefbari neighborhood of Comilla city, a mob broke into Bahar’s home. They caused significant damage before setting the house on fire.

500 prisoners were able to escape the district jail in Sherpur after thugs broke in.

On Monday afternoon, a crowd armed with sticks and homemade weapons staged a march in the middle of curfew.

Attackers targeted at least six police stations in Chittagong.. The attackers vandalized and set fire to these stations. They stole various items, including guns and ammunition.

Leaders and activists in the AL also had their residences and workplaces targeted.
