Over 10,000 athletes will compete in the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024, which takes place on July 26.

A magnificent international athlete gathering will take place at the Summer Olympics in Paris, anticipated by many. The organizers have not yet made the announcement of the final number of competitors. It is anticipated that approximately 10,500 athletes will participate, a number that is comparable to the participation in previous Summer Olympic Games.

Thirty-two disciplines will be represented by participants at the event. These disciplines include Breaking (breakdancing) Skateboarding Sport climbing Surfing. Athletes will compete in 329 events. In line with the IOC’s commitment to gender equality, there will be a balanced representation of male and female athletes at the Games.

The Refugee Olympic Team will compete in addition to individual national teams. It gives displaced athletes a chance to compete on a worldwide scale.

It’s crucial to remember that the number of athletes can vary somewhat as qualifying progresses. The months preceding the Games are used to make decisions on teams.

Olympic village

During the Games, competitors will reside at the Olympic Village. The village has a dining hall with a capacity of 3,200 seats. There is also a polyclinic with a size of 3,500 square meters. The village offers a 24-hour gym for the athletes. Additionally, there is a small grocery available.

The Paris 2024 Athletes’Commission recruited representatives from five continents to provide input during the design and building phases of the facilities. The organization did this to create an environment where athletes could focus on their competitions and guarantee that the facilities meet their requirements.

At the Village Club, athletes can unwind and catch up with one another while watching Olympic broadcasts. The Athlete 365 Space will serve as the site for the Athlete Commission member elections. By providing information on IOC support programs, we will also raise awareness of concerns such as match-fixing and anti-doping.

The Seine-Saint-Denis neighborhood will integrate the Village following the Games. The Village’s green spaces, stores, and public services will meet the 6,000 long-term housing needs and 6,000 jobs created by the site’s retail establishments, public spaces, offices, and residences.

The new neighborhood will include approximately seven hectares of gardens and parks. A hotel, student housing, and approximately 2,500 new homes will also be part of the new development. A total of 120,000 square meters of offices and city services will be included. Additionally, 3,200 square meters of local stores will be part of the new neighborhood.

The intention of vegetation and water in public spaces is to lessen the effects of climate change in the future.The organizers have constructed the Village to adapt to changing weather conditions.
