The parents of Gaza hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin on Thursday in southern Israel.
Hamas terrorists took 23-year-old Hersh Goldberg-Polin, along with 250 other hostages, as prisoners during their October 7 attack on southern Israel.
The Israeli Defence Forces have found and recovered the bodies of six captives. Among the six hostages is US national Hersh Goldberg-Polin. Authorities found the corpses below Rafah in a tunnel.
The other captives freed were Ori Danino (age 25), Almog Sarusi (age 26), Carmel Gat (age 39), and Eden Yerushalmi (age 24).
The IDF confirms it retrieved from Gaza the bodies of 6 hostages who were kidnapped by Hamas on October 7.

Additionally, US President Joe Biden stated that Hersh Goldberg-Polin’s body was one among those discovered in the Gaza tunnels.
“Earlier today, in a tunnel under the city of Rafah, Israeli forces recovered six bodies of hostages held by Hamas,” Biden stated in a statement.
Among the captives, one was an American citizen
“We have now confirmed that one of the hostages… was an American citizen, Hersh Goldberg-Polin,” said the president.
Hamas militants took the 23-year-old and 250 other hostages prisoner during their October 7 onslaught in southern Israel. On October 7, when Hamas rushed into Israel and killed 1,200 people, they kidnapped about 250. A cease-fire in late 2018 resulted in the release of over 100 captives.
Last month in Chicago, during the Democratic National Convention, Goldberg-Polin’s parents gave a speech to delegates. Kidnappers took Goldberg-Polin from the Supernova music festival.
The pair participated in a demonstration at the Gaza border on Thursday alongside other families of hostages. “Hersh! It’s Mom. “I love you, Rachel Goldberg-Polin yelled into a microphone. Stay strong, survive!”
On October 7, her son and other individuals hid in a bomb bunker. However, gunmen attacked it with grenades, besieging the bunker.
The Hamas video from that day showed them placing him onto a pickup truck. A portion of his left arm, blasted off during the attack, was missing.
He stated that the detainees were living “in hell” in a proof-of-life video that Hamas published on April 24. Below the elbow, his left arm had been severed.
