The French Embassy in Nepal hosted a reception in honor of the Nepal Olympic Committee and the country’s Olympians. To celebrate their accomplishments, a banquet was held in the French Residence. Moreover, we eagerly anticipated their involvement in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris in 2024. On July 26, the organizers scheduled the games to start.

Furthermore, the French Chargé d’Affaires, Jean-Baptiste Lesecq, expressed his happiness at having received the athletes and their support crews. He congratulated the Olympians on their achievements throughout his address. In addition, he emphasized the importance of their selection to represent Nepal abroad. He noted that everyone in the nation, including the athletes’ friends and family, is celebrating this happy occasion.

“Success in sports is never due to one person; rather, it is the product of dedication from your coaches and the supporting team who are present here this evening,” he said. Meanwhile, the president of the Nepal Olympic Committee, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, stated: “We are confident that the Paris Olympic Games will be magnificent.” Ultimately, it will exhibit coherence and excellence.”

Athletes reside in the Olympic village

The athletes will reside at Paris’ Olympic Village. Consequently, they will be able to meet other athletes who have similar values and are passionate about sports. Moreover, it was recommended by the Chargé d’Affaires that attendees immerse themselves completely in the spirit of the Games and Paris. In addition, the opening ceremony will take place on the Seine River, and venues will include well-known Parisian monuments. Therefore, this promises to be an unforgettable experience.

Furthermore, Olympians in badminton and judo, Manita Pradhan and Prince Dahal, were in attendance. Similarly, Olympians Sushmita Nepal, a shooter, and Shantoshi Shrestha, an athlete, were also present. Additionally, there were prominent leaders from the Nepal Olympic Committee as well as coaches present. Notably, Duana Lama was swimming, Alexander G. Shah was swimming, and Santoo Shrestha was playing table tennis.

Blessing by the French Embassy

The Nepali Olympians received the best wishes from the French Embassy. The embassy wished them a prosperous journey filled with treasured memories. They also gave them the ability to attain both individual and group goals. They hope that these achievements will stick in the minds of people as they represent their country abroad.

The Summer Olympics in Paris in 2024 are sure to be a fantastic event. The event is expected to be thrilling because it will feature new sports including breakdancing, sport climbing, skateboarding, and surfing. We want to be inclusive and attract a younger audience with these additions. The organizing committee for Paris 2024 has made significant social and environmental commitments. Maintaining a gender balance among the athletes is one of these pledges.

This event is also historic because the Summer Olympics were last held in Paris in 1924.
