The Bollywood actor is among the film festival honourees, along with Jane Campion and Alfonso Cuaron.
One of the oldest film festivals in the world is, indeed, the Locarno Film Festival. It opens, specifically, on Wednesday, July 7. Furthermore, special honors will be presented to Shah Rukh Khan, Jane Campion, Alfonso Cuaron, and Irene Jacob among the star-studded roster of films.

This year, Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan will receive the Pardo alla Carriera Award. Notably, he will receive the award at the age of 58, in recognition of his noteworthy contributions to Indian cinema.
Furthermore, Giona A. Nazzaro, artistic director of the festival, praised Khan as a king who has never lost touch with his audience. He emphasized, in particular, the actor’s ongoing appeal and determination to push himself creatively.

The awards given out by the film festival
The Golden Leopard is, indeed, the biggest prize at Locarno. Notably, Roberto Rossellini, John Ford, Stanley Kubrick, Milos Forman, Mike Leigh, and Jim Jarmusch are among the directors who have won awards in the past.
Furthermore, the seventeen films competing for the prize are all world or worldwide debuts. Specifically, they come from South Korea, France, Lithuania, Austria, and Italy.

lifetime achievement award
Mexican director Alfonso Cuarón will receive a lifetime achievement honor. He won the Best Director Oscar for Gravity. He also won the Best Director Oscar for Roma.
Nazzaro remarked, “Cuaron has reinvented himself as an artist with each new film.”
Jacob, a French-Swiss actress who starred in “The Double Life of Veronique” (1991) and “Three Colours: Red” (1994), will receive the Leopard Club Award for her cinematic work that has captured the public’s imagination.
The Raimondo Rezzonico Award will be given to Stacey Sher. She is known for producing films such as Django Unchained, Erin Brockovich, Gattaca, Pulp Fiction, and The Hateful Eight. She is a notable figure in worldwide cinema production.
The festival drew close to 150,000 attendees the year before.
